Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-05

Pixmood is a mood journal designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does with your data. The short answer: your journal never leaves your phone.

Your data stays on your device

All your mood entries, notes, tags and settings are stored only on your device, in a local SQLite database. There is no network layer for user data. Pixmood does not send your data to a server, because there is no server to send it to.

No account, no sign-in

You do not need to create an account, provide an email or sign in to use Pixmood. The app works fully without an internet connection.

Period and cycle data

Cycle tracking is fully optional and never runs unless you explicitly turn it on. All cycle data, including your period days, cycle preferences and predictions, is stored only on your device; it is never sent to a server, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or analytics. You can delete this data from within the app at any time; deleting the app removes all data on the device as well. The fertility window and period predictions are rough estimates; they are not medical advice and not reliable for contraception or pregnancy planning.

Voice notes

Voice notes are optional. Recordings are stored only on your device, never uploaded anywhere, and the microphone is accessed only while you are recording. You can delete a voice note at any time.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which features are used, Pixmood can send anonymous usage events through Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service. There is no persistent device ID, no advertising ID and no user profile; sessions are anonymous. Your mood values, notes and tags are never part of these events, and your journal content is never sent anywhere.

No ads

Pixmood shows no ads. There is no ad SDK inside the app; no advertising ID is read and no data is processed for advertising purposes.

Permissions

Pixmood asks only for minimal permissions tied to features you use: biometric (for the app lock), notification (for reminders), microphone (only while recording a voice note), camera (only while adding a photo to your day) and photo (to pick a day photo or save a share card to your gallery). Photos, like all your data, stay on your device only. No location or contacts permission is requested, and there is no Apple Health / HealthKit access.

Data portability

From Settings you can export and import all of your data as JSON. Your data is yours; you can take it or delete it any time. When you delete the app, the data on your device is removed too.

Children

Pixmood is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. It collects no personal data from anyone.

Backups

On Android, automatic cloud backup is disabled so your journal data does not leak into third-party backups.

Compliance

Pixmood is designed to align with GDPR and KVKK principles. Because your journal never leaves your device and analytics are anonymous, the personal data processed is minimal.

This website

This website follows the same principle. Zero analytics, zero trackers, zero cookies. The site is fully static and does not track you.
